Grass Court Saga Tennis Club was established in 1975.
The founder Dr. Masanori Ogata of Grass of Grass Court Saga visited “Wimbledon”, All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, and he was greatly impressed with the tradition and the style. Then, in 1975, he founded a tennis club called “Wimbledon Kyushu” in Saga (the name was changed into Grass Court Saga in 2008).

We had hold numerous tournaments including international ones. We also held “Grass Hoppers All Japan Junior Tournament in Saga” sponsored by “Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology”, “Ministry of Public Management, House Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications”, and “Saga City”. This tournament is for Juniors to aim the “Wimbledon”.

I believe Grass Court Saga is surely still developing. I am proud of the grass courts and people enjoy playing on them.

I would like to support junior players, especially the players who aim to play at “Wimbledon”.
